GENERAL FACTS

· Production on this series began on August 12, 2003 on the first episode after the pilot.
· The series One Tree Hill, was originally scheduled to debut midseason on the WB but was shifted to fall when replacing new series Fearless, which had production problems and was not able to bow out in time for fall.
· One Tree Hill was originally named Ravens (the basketball team mascot), and created to be a 2-hour TV movie.
· In the original pilot, Lucas Scott's best friend was named "Reagan" and played by Samantha Shelton, but then after the show was added to the fall schedule, the character was renamed to Haley James and was re-casted.
· The high school characters begin as Sophomores and attend 'Tree Hill High'.
· The baby who plays "Jenny" (Jake's daughter) is actually played by 4 babies, three girls and one boy. Two of the girls are 10 1/2 month old twins Erin and Emily.
· "Karen's Cafe" use to be Jen's Radio Station on Dawson's Creek.
· Kevin Kilner, who plays "Larry Sawyer" also starred as Chad's character "Austin Ames" father in A Cinderella Story.

· The Mystery: How can the half-brothers, Luke and Nathan, be exactly the same age?
The Answer: From creator and executive producer Mark Schwahn: "Alfred Hitchcock used to say 'Don't belabor the MacGuffin.' The MacGuffin was the thing that set everything into motion. Dan Scott and Karen Roe were high school sweethearts. Karen got pregnant in the summer after their senior year in high school. Dan chose to pursue his basketball dreams and accepted a scholarship offer, leaving Karen behind. Arriving at college, Dan met Deb. They began dating and a couple of months later, she was also pregnant. In the words of Karen, 'Dan always was an overachiever.' Perhaps because of the residual guilt of his abandonment of Karen, or perhaps because Deb was from money, from a big city, or simply seemed like his true love, Dan accepted this responsibility and married Deb. The following year, Lucas [Chad Michael Murray] was born in March. And in June, Nathan [James Lafferty] was born. The end."
